Nat Harvie of Duluth band Vivielle released a solo EP on July 1, 2016.

He stopped by The Local on July 6 to share tunes from the project and spoke with host DJ TeeJay.

They talked about the EP, titled Snow is a Gift to My Fear, which was inspired by the bleakness and monotony of a Duluth winter and written during a wet, gray winter north in British Columbia, where Harvie goes to college.

Vivielle—Something That Isn't There

The transition from summer to fall is always hard to make.  The leaves fall off the trees, the sky gets permanently cloudy, and the students try to ease back into school.  Luckily, Vivielle is back to make the transition a little bit easier.  On their latest, Something That Isn’t There, the Duluth four-piece delivers ten tracks of autumn-ready melancholia— a perfect soundtrack for the fall season.

Check out our session from August 18, 2015 with this band of Duluth natives who are releasing a new album of indie pop/rock the same night at the Red Herring Lounge in Duluth.

Listen to our session from August 21, 2014 with this young Duluth indie folk/rock band. They play us a few tunes and chat with us about the future of their band.
