UMD Viz Lab/MMAD Lab

To paraphrase Coleridge: Water, water everywhere, / Nor any time to think.

Two weeks ago.  Quiet Wednesday night on the UMD campus. Almost 6pm.

Viz Lab/MMAD Lab (emerging visual technologies and techniques and Motion and Media Across Disciplines) director Lisa Fitzpatrick is still at work, helping a student pull a paper together.

Then, without warning ... water starts rushing into the lab - threatening a million or so dollars worth of equipment.

Samantha Woller is interested in intersections.

Like the intersections where society's views and expectations of women have allowed - if not fostered - the kinds of treatment that's spawned the #metoo movement.

But she's living at an interesting intersection of her own, where her psychology and philosophy majors meet along with her volunteer work and the importance of belief.
