Can you make car tires from trees and grass?

University of Minnesota researchers can.  They've discovered a new way to make isoprene (a key molecule in car tires) which means the tires made from biomass would be identical to the tires we're using now - the ones made primarily from fossil fuels.

Representative Erik Simonson says Minnesota lawmakers "are sending a strong message across Minnesota" that if you don't come from money, you can't afford to go to college.

The DFL lawmaker, who represented District 7B in northeastern Minnesota, speaks frankly about the numbers being talked about with regards to higher education funding, and the possibility of a veto.

One of the major landmarks located on the campus of the University of Minnesota is The Weisman Art Museum. It is a stainless steel building overlooking the Mississippi River. On Thursday August 23rd The Weisman is presenting a free panal discussion that will be exploring "WAM Chatter: Do local artists count?."

Ten graphic design students at the Duluth Business University put together a graphic design show at Lizzards Art Gallery, called "Group Exhibit: DBU Graphic Design Students." The show opened on March 18th, and will wrap on April 14th, 2010.
