The Lest We Forget traveling show opens this evening at the Duluth Art Institute this evening, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

There will be an artist talk at the opening reception beginning at 5pm.

The Soap Factory has been a leader in the Minneapolis arts scene since the mid 1990s, and they are not slowing down in their mission of supporting emerging and mid-career artists.  Often focused on supporting the endeavors of artists in the Twin Cities, they have long welcomed national and international artists.  They truly believe in supporting the arts, through tangible financial support.  Their 2017 call for artists,which includes Duluth artists, "Rethinking Public Spaces in Minnesota" is accepting proposals statewide through Feb 8.  The link to apply is listed below.

This week on Radio Gallery, we are joined by Cheryl Wilgren Clyne, curator of the Soap Factory's 4th Midwest Biennial, superusted. The exhibition features work of seventeen artists from over five states across the Midwestern region. She shares with us the concept behind the show, the process of selecting artists, as well as the meaning behind her own work. The opening reception is September 12th from 7-11pm at the Soap Factory, and runs through November 8th. 

This week on Radio Gallery we speak with Roderic Southall, curator of "Friction Fiction," a survey of black animation presented by The Soap Factory and Obsidian Arts in Minneapolis opening February 7.
