rubber mulch

The Duluth School Board didn't see the rubber mulch controversy coming when formulating a ten year plan.

So having to replace the rubber mulch with engineered wood chips was a million-dollar expense they hadn't planned for.

The good news? The project is going to cost about $60-thousand dollars less than they thought.

The bad news?  Changing all the plans will eat up about $12,500 of that.

Local parents and the Duluth School District are in agreement that the shredded rubber mulch on local school playgrounds needs to go ... but, as always, money is an issue.

So Duluth Parents for Healthy Playgrounds decided an Earth Day event would be just the ticket.
