Rachael Kilgour | Rabbit in the Road

Minnesota native, Rachael Kilgour explores unmarked territory in her latest release Rabbit in the Road. Known for her lyrics on social issues, Kilgour puts her activism on hold and searches inward for cathartic release after a failed marriage.

It's been a whirlwind year for this Duluth native, who's been touring steadily and working on her latest, Catie Curtis-produced, album, Rabbit in the Road, her first since 2011.

Along the way Kilgour won the 2015 NewSong Music Contest, which led to performances at the Sundance Film Festival and at New York City's Lincoln Center. The new material reflects the heartbreak, resilience, and new beginnings that Kilgour's experienced since her 2014 divorce. She joined us live in the studio on September 5, 2016 in advance of her CD release show on September 11 at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth.

This singer/songwriter from Portland, Maine, joins us on Wednesday, April 27 at 2pm. He's released six albums, won several songwriting competitions, and performs regularly at festivals around the country.

He performed the same night at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor with local performer Rachael Kilgour.

KUMD celebrates Women's History Month with a daily post about women in our community who lead, create and inspire.

Today we honor, Rachael Kilgour: Progressive Duluth musician.
