Women's Words on October 27 featured poet Ellie Schoenfeld reading four poems: "The Hawks," "Day of the Dead," "There Is Nothing We Will Not Let the Bombs Do," and "What I Send You."

Ellie Schoenfeld is a poet from Duluth, Minnesota. Her most recent book is The Dark Honey: New & Used Poems (Clover Valley Press), and she has collaborated with various musicians to produce poetry/music CDs. She is the co-founder of Poetry Harbor and has served on the board of Spirit Lake Poetry Series.

Sheila Packa, a former Duluth poet laureate, reads two poems, "Not Just Bread," a found poem from the writings of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, and "Oliver Mine, WWII," that are part of her new work, The Vermilion Trail. It was combined with the music of cellist Kathy McTavish to become Night Train / Red Dust, which was recently performed at The Fringe Festival in the Twin Cities.

Women's Words on July 7, 2013 features Micky McGilligan, a writer from Two Harbors reading an excerpt of "The Kindness of Rangers," from her online travelogue Last Chance to Travel with Charlie.

Micky McGilligan has had poetry and essays for over 30 years in various local and national magazines and anthologies, as well as performances at various local venues. Most recently she has an essay in Upon Arrival of Illness, Coming to Terms with the Dark Companion, by Savage Press.
