Von Agassiz has been a breath of fresh air on Duluth's music scene in the past few years, creating whimsical electro-folk with her keyboards, looping pedal, and sampler. She recently released her much-anticipated debut album, O Giver of Dreams. We're happy to welcome her back to our studios on Friday, May 4 at 2pm for a preview of her Duluth Homegrown Music Festival show the following night at Blacklist Artisan Ales.

Ingeborg Von Agassiz| O Giver of Dreams

Duluth-based artist Ingeborg Von Agassiz is more than just a mouthful to pronounce. Von Agassiz, whose actual name is Emma Rusten, draws her moniker from two 12th century influences, Hildegard Von Bingen and Eleanor of Aquitaine, two of the most accomplished women in the Medieval era. Her newest project , O Giver of Dreams, is self-produced and described as a “Hank Williams melody with a Hip Hop beat;” truly her music is a unique blend of vocals, acoustics and drum production.

Emma Rustan is a visual artist with who only recently realized her dream of becoming a performing musician.

In her short time on the local scene she's made a strong impression with her solo performances of original tunes featuring her distinctive voice accompanied by simple keyboard lines, loops, and effects. She joined us in the studio on May 5, 2016 to preview her performance at the Homegrown Music Festival.
