We've got daylight from 5:15am to 9:00pm this month, and from fireflies to songbirds to butterflies, dragon flies, frogs, wildflowers and trees, Mother Nature is taking advantage of every single second.

Cat Island, part of the Apostle Island National Lakeshore, is a great place for people to vacation.

Trouble is, it's a lousy place for bears to make a living.

This time of year,  mother bears start kicking out their adult offpsring.  And like slacker children everywhere, young bears are looking for a maximum reward for minimal effort.

In two words: camp food.

The Chicago Cubs weren't the only bears in the news this week -- as so often happens, there was a black bear in downtown Duluth getting a lot of press.

The warm temps and sunshine mean get out into the toolies and look at stuff this weekend, but Larry Weber says folks around his place are wearing blaze orange, just to be on the safe side -- even in their own yards!
