Radio Gallery speaks with Tom Attridge this week about his sculpture and the Bockley Gallery's Annual potluck Summer group exhibit. Attridge is a lifelong artist & sculptor from St. Paul specializing in bronze casting but has worked in steel, cast iron, stone, terra cotta, cement, wood & more.

This is the second year for Woman-Made Art Fair, a fine art & craft fair in Duluth that features the creative work of women in the Northland. This week Radio Gallery speaks with Mercedes Moreland, one woman who will be highlighted in this years Women-Made Art Fair. It will take place July 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College of St. Scholastica, in Somers Lounge.

Brenda Paro is a writer and photographer who is presenting her new work in an exhibit called "Subtle Cargoes" at Washington Gallery. It opens Friday July 9th from 6 to 8 p.m and shows Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm through July 25th. Brenda speaks with Radio Gallery about the journey she traveled that inspired her to create art that combined her photography and poetry using different printing techniques and materials.

Elliot Silberman

Elliot Silberman is one of the many Minnesota artists exhibiting their work this weekend at the Park Point Art Fair. He is a portrait artist that is able to capture the image in the likeness of three minutes. Park Point Art Fair will also be featuring ceramics, carved wood, jewelry, prints and KUMD with a CD sale fundraiser.

Russel Gran Jr., resident of Washington Studios Artists' Co-op, shares the story behind his visual narrative with Radio Gallery. Washington Gallery will be exhibiting his narrative through June 27th.

Melissa Weisser talks with Radio Gallery about her oil painting. A member at the Washington Studio Artists Cooperative, Weisser is showing her work this month at Beaners Central in West Duluth.

Throughout finals week at UMD, the students Ziyad Kadir and Julianne Glawe have been working to display their products for 2-D Digital Studio. Their pieces each represent something meaningful to their heritage and was on display at the Tweed Museum until May 11th.

Closing on MAY 14 is the Duluth Art Institute's exhibition, "Fresh, New, and True: Work by Emerging Artists." Suzanne Wyss, one of the featured artists, met with Radio Gallery to discuss her work.

As the "Homegrown Music Festival" has expanded over the years, it has started featuring art forms beyond music, including video and photography. On Thursday, May sixth, Matt Stengl has a photo exhibition going up at Pizza Luce as part of Homegrown.

Live painting: Useful Jenkins in Eau Claire, WI

Join us as we talk with Jeredt Runions, a very influential artist and live painter located in Duluth, Minnesota. He will be painting at the "Respect You Mother Earth Festival" on May first. Runions also has a show going up at Red Mug Coffee House in Superior on Firday, May 7th, during the Homegrown Festival.
