Lillian Egner, the program and volunteer manager at The Soap Factory, joins Radio Gallery this week to share details about the upcoming 10 Second Film Festival. It is an exciting event that will take place on July 4th directly following the fireworks at St. Anthony Main.
The Soap Factory describes itself as a "laboratory for artistic experimentation and innovation, dedicated to supporting artists and engaging audiences through the production and presentation of contemporary art in a unique and historic environment." Egner, the program and volunteer manager at The Soap Factory, joins Radio Gallery to talk about the upcoming Ten Second Film Festival. It is a free outdoor film festival that screens the top 100 ten second films. Egner explains how each film is unique and unexpected because the only rule to submit a film is that it must be 10 second long. She also shares the way in which the idea for the film festival began and their unique way of creating categories for the festival. It is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, music, films, and laughter. The Ten Second Film Festival takes place on July 4th after the St. Anthony Main fireworks on The Soap Factory lawn, located in Minneapolis, MN.
