Mary Kallemeyn speaks with Radio Gallery about her senior exhibit titled "A Great Loss" that will be displayed at Red Mug Coffee through January and February. She studied economics and art, with an emphasis on painting, at the College of St. Scholastica. Kallemeyn shares her hopes to utilize her left brain and right brain abilities as she makes a transition into her career. She also explains the way she has learned to use painting as a release, and reaction to emotion. Mary says in her artist statement that her show "contains paintings about loss, about grief- be it public or very private. This theme allows me to explore the internal change that accompanies the acceptance of such emotions." It will exhibit 15 pieces on wood panel with acrylic and chalk pastel. The gallery is open during Red Mugs regular business hours: Monday -Thursday from 7am - 7pm, Friday & Saturday from 7am -10pm, and Sunday from 9 am -5 pm and is located at 916 Hammond Ave in Superior, Wisconsin.
