KUMD Presents: The Lowest Pair Album Release

KUMD is excited to kick off our first ever monthly concert series at The Red Herring Lounge on Saturday April 30, celebrating The Lowest Pair's dual album release featuring Gaelynn Lea!

SATURDAY, APRIL 30 // THE RED HERRING LOUNGE

DOORS 6PM // MUSIC 7PM // 18+ // $10 // TICKETS

The new records, Fern Girl and Ice Man, as well as Uncertain As It Is Uneven, could be viewed as two windows into the growing and changing world of The Lowest Pair. Uncertain stays the course of their previous releases, being focused on stripped down, intimate arrangements to support their timeless songwriting and haunting vocals. Fern Girl is a more moody and adventurous exploration of new sounds, new studio production directions, and what it might sound like for The Lowest Pair to be supported by a full band, while keeping one foot planted in the rootsy aesthetics which drew them together from the beginning. - The Lowest Pair

Gaelynn Lea is a musician and public speaker from Duluth, MN. She has been playing violin for over twenty years. First classically trained, she began learning traditional Celtic and American fiddle tunes at the age of 18. During her college years Gaelynn started sitting in with various folk/rock musicians and developed an improvisational style all her own. Eventually she also began singing and dabbling in songwriting. Gaelynn has played alongside many notable Minnesota musicians over the years, including Alan Sparhawk, Charlie Parr, and Billy McLaughlin.Gaelynn Lea
