A ceremonial fire.  The sound of drumming.  The scent of sage.  A feast and prayer and offerings of tobacco. Firelight teachings and a sweat lodge.

Babette Sandman says it's important to let everyone know they're starting this off in a good way; "this" being a local chapter of Natives Against Heroin.

Even the founder of the organization, James Cross, will be in attendance.  And Sandman says the ceremony will serve a dual purpose: to let those suffering from addiction know the community cares about them and doesn't want them to die, and to put the dealers on notice.
