Habitattitude: finding the right place for dorm pets

The koi and goldfish that appeared in Bagley Nature Center's Rock Pond a number of years back were the tip-off that UMD had a situation to address.

So twice a year, MN Sea Grant joins the crush of students attending the monthly UMD PAWS event (testament to how much the students love pets) and offers a no-questions-asked option for college kids to surrender fish, reptiles, amphibians - and even aquarium plants.  Habitattitude not only gives students a more humane option than turning their dorm pets loose outside, the program aims to educate the public, too.
