A leader in community engagement, murals and public arts, St. Paul painter Ta-Coumba Aiken is our guest on Radio Gallery this week.
Ta-Coumba Aiken shares his journey into the arts, from his first childhood art show to his trials and successes as a full-time artist. In honor of Black History Month, Radio Gallery recognizes Aiken as valuable force in the Twin Cities. A leader in community arts, Aiken creates opportunities for us all to feel connected, to see our landscape anew and to remind us of that public art helps us see our interwoven lives.
His work includes a lifetime of painting and public works like: the 2013 World Record Largest Lite-Bright image, beloved murals in Minneapolis and St. Paul, and he his involvement and shows with the Minnesota Artist's Exhibition Program at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
