10/29 MN Reads: "Vampyroteuthis Infernalis" translated by Valentine Pakis

Oct 29, 2015

What could possibly be more interesting than reading a book about something called "the vampire squid from hell"?

A book called, variously, "part scientific treatise, part spoof, part philosophical discourse, part fable,"  "a unique posthumanist philosophical understanding of phenomenology,"  and "a pioneering exploration of uncharted territory in the realm of animal cognition, philosophy and art."?

Translating it from the German - just for fun.

(The Vampire Squid From Hell did consent to an interview several years ago with the University of Minnesota Press.  You can read the interview here:)
